ECP Decides Not To Use Magnetic Ink in Local Bodies Elections

Election Commission of Pakistan has decided not to use magnetic ink for verification of thumb impression in the local bodies (LB) polls.
Country’s largest media group quoted some sources from inside the ECP in a news story on their English daily’s website claiming that commission had reached over the decision.
“Commission has decided to use normal ink in the upcoming LB elections as the usage of magnetic ink did not provide required results in the past,” report said.
In this regard, the commission has asked Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) to make normal ink of better quality for the LB polls.
Earlier, the ECP had asked the PCSIR for making magnetic ink for thumb impression of the voters.
